Callaway Fairway Wood Elyte X Golf Club
Callaway
A virtuous cycle brought about by improved distance and forgiveness . Confidence in high-trajectory draw shots deepens with each hit. The ELYTE fairway woods not only combine high levels of speed and forgiveness, but were also developed to address two major issues facing fairway woods. First, inconsistent impact points. Like the driver, the Ai 10x FACE increases the control point by 10 times compared to the PARADYM Ai SMOKE MAX D fairway wood, powerfully addressing a variety of mishits. Second, impact on the lower part of the face.
To ensure a solid ball flight even on topped hits, the club features a tungsten speed wave slightly elevated from the inside of the sole and a new step sole design with a stepped, elevated rear. Of the five models in the series, the ELYTE X fairway wood features a shallow face, a longer head length, and a thicker heel for a draw-biased feel. The new model offers better ball control and launch than the previous model, allowing you to consistently achieve the ideal long trajectory. The lineup includes four models, from W#3 to W#7.
Features & Benefits:
-
Like the driver, the new ELYTE fairway wood is equipped with the Ai 10x FACE, which delivers a straight flight no matter where you hit it
Enhanced software capabilities allow AI to scan the face design down to the finest details, significantly increasing the number of control points (locations on the face that correct for optimal trajectory). This improves upon the previous model's ability to address inconsistencies in the impact point, one of the biggest mistakes made with fairway woods, and allows you to hit the ball farther and within a narrower landing range, regardless of where you hit the ball on the face. -
Tungsten Speed Wave, which doesn't inhibit lower-section flex
The lower front portion of the sole, in the toe-heel direction, features a uniquely integrated weight called Tungsten Speed Wave, which is installed in a different way than previous models. Conventional weights are attached to the inside or outside of the sole by welding or screws. While this method achieves a low, shallow center of gravity, it also has the drawback of inhibiting flex from the lower part of the face to the front of the sole. The Tungsten Speed Wave is fixed with screws at a position away from the face inside, while the portion extending from the toe to the heel near the face is designed to be slightly elevated from the inside of the sole. This allows the lower part of the face to flex firmly, even on impacts close to the top, enabling the ball to be launched high and far. -
The sole design
has also been completely redesigned. It adopts the step-sole design seen on the 2022 APEX UW, which features a step midway through the shaft. The rear section is slightly elevated and raised, reducing the sole's contact area with the ground by 57%. This reduces excess sole rebound at impact, improving head release and significantly reducing mishits on the lower part of the face. At the same time, the front sole design takes into account the instability of the head's seating due to the raised rear of the sole. It's designed to prevent the face from opening up when the club is set on the ground. -
The ELYTE X Fairway Wood series offers five models with a reassuring shape and a draw bias that helps the ball grip
Like the driver of the same name, the ELYTE X Fairway Wood is designed for excellent grip and a high trajectory. The head is slightly longer from front to back than the ELYTE Fairway Wood, and has a reassuring shape that appears large overall. The face also has a shallow design that makes it easy to pick up the ball. Furthermore, the inner heel is thickened, giving it draw bias characteristics. The weight is the aforementioned tungsten Speed Wave, with no weight placed at the rear of the sole. -
The ELYTE X Fairway Wood comes in four different sizes, all
featuring a triaxial carbon crown: W#3, W#3HL, W#5, and W#7. The face materials are maraging steel C300 for the W#3 and W#3HL, and Carpenter 455 steel for the W#5 and W#7. The crowns are made of triaxial carbon for all four sizes. Only the W#3 and W#3HL models feature an adjustable hosel.
