Aged for approximately 19 months, the new Callaway OPUS Wedge boasts exquisite form and spin performance.

The name was inspired by a winery that produces some of California's finest wines. This shows just how exceptional the design is. The shape, with a slightly rounded leading edge and a more pronounced teardrop shape, was perfected through repeated refinements based on careful communication with tour players. The face retains the sharp corners of the 37V grooves, while narrowing their width and spacing to increase the number of grooves by two, significantly improving spin and control, especially in rough and wet lies. The OPUS Wedge retains the blasting process of the popular JAWS FORGED wedge and retains Callaway's signature microfeatures. In addition to the existing S, W, and C grinds, the T grind is now available. Seven lofts are available, ranging from 48° to 60° in 2-degree increments.

• The sixth prototype was created after repeated improvements based on professional feedback
  The shape was a key focus in the development of the OPUS Wedge. Prototype production began approximately 19 months ago, and numerous improvements were made based on extensive feedback from tour players. Ultimately, the sixth prototype, known as Shape 6, was adopted. One of its key features is the leading edge, which, reflecting feedback from tour pros, has a rounded edge somewhere between the JAWS RAW and JAWS FORGED wedges. Overall, the heel of the top blade is a teardrop-shaped design that's neither too low nor too high. The design from the hosel to the face, particularly the area connecting to the top blade, is a very smooth curve, rather than the traditional concave shape.

• While maintaining the sharpness of the 37V, the increased number of grooves has significantly improved performance
  The OPUS Wedge also features significant changes to its grooves. The new 2010 groove rules include regulations that relate groove volume and groove pitch (groove width plus the width between grooves), meaning that increasing groove volume naturally requires increasing pitch. The OPUS Wedge maintains the traditional 37V sharpness while narrowing the groove width to reduce groove volume. This, combined with the narrower pitch, allows for two more grooves than before. This results in a significant increase in spin, especially in rough or wet lies. At the same time, the launch angle is lower, significantly improving control when aiming at the target.

• Inherits the blasting process of the JAWS FORGED wedge and also features microfeatures
  The OPUS wedge's face retains the blasting process of the JAWS FORGED wedge, which was well-received by tour players. The roughness has been upgraded to allow for more solid ball contact. Microfeatures are also installed between the grooves. These small, diagonally-formed protrusions help direct the face toward the target when the face is open, contributing to increased spin.

• In addition to the existing S, W, and C, the lineup now also includes the new T grind
  There are four different sole grinds available. The standard S, the W, which has a wider sole with a more rounded shape than the previous model, and the C, which has a semicircular sole resembling the letter C due to the trailing edge being carved away, are all existing models. A new addition has been the T grind. The T grind is similar to the C grind, but the trailing edge has been carved away more widely, further reducing the bounce angle. This allows for accurate contact with the ball, even on thin, hard surfaces.

  Two finishes are available: chrome and black. Seven lofts are available, ranging from 48 to 60 degrees in 2-degree increments. The 48-degree loft is available in S grind, while the 50, 52, 54, and 56-degree lofts are available in S and W grinds. The 58 and 60-degree lofts are available in S, W, T, and C grinds. Three steel shafts are available.
